Who We Are
Veterans Pardners, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization which was created to empower veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as, active duty service members, to overcome overwhelming challenges, regain control of their lives, and become self-sufficient. Following a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) &/or while suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression or other mental illness our Vets often feel lost and alone. Our focus is to “Partner” with these warriors and provide them with appropriate therapeutic and alternative resources to encourage balance, resiliency, and wellness of mind, body, and spirit. Through our comprehensive suite of services, we support our veterans better achieve personal growth, healing, health, and life fulfillment.
Through caring relationships, a commitment to service and Community Partnerships, we bring education, resources & support to empower our Veterans. Trauma survivors with mental health disorders and those with physical disabilities can bring their whole self into balanced alignment, allowing them to improve their personal sufficiency and resiliency in their own community. Then they can demonstrate compassionate care for themselves, their own well-being, that of their families and their community.
Our term “Pardners” is reminiscent of our pioneer heritage that required communities to support their own so all could survive and thrive. Veterans Pardners is a Demonstration Project that any U.S. County can join and emulate. Our first armed service was the army led by the Calvary. Like the Calvary, we will lead the way, blaze the trail, and guide others in building community support that works for our Veterans.
Each year, more than 200,000 veterans transition back into the civilian workforce, but unfortunately not all find the transition without challenges. Many of our war veterans have untreated disorders. These hidden wounds affect the veteran’s moods, their family, their ability to work and contribute to their community. Some of the greatest needs are for easy access to diagnosis and efficacious treatment protocols for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), MST (Military Sexual Trauma), Depression and Anxiety.
The presence of any of these conditions can impair future health, work productivity, family and social relationships. Individuals affected by TBI, PTSD, or MST are more likely to have other psychiatric diagnoses, particularly substance use, and are at a significantly increased risk for attempting suicide. Suffering from these health conditions can also impair relationships, disrupt marriages, aggravate the difficulties of parenting and cause problems in children that may extend the consequences of combat experiences across generations.
However, despite widespread policy interest and a firm commitment from DoD and the VA to address these issues, fundamental gaps remain in addressing the mental health and cognitive needs of U.S. Service Members returning from deployments. We help bridge those gaps.
